The exterior design is an evolution while the cabin is all-new

Since 2016, when it was launched, Skoda has shifted more than 860,000 Kodiaqs. That was all the first-generation Kodiaq,  this is the second iteration. Apparently, it’s bigger, more efficient, more luxurious, more sustainableBritain is the second-largest market, behind Germany and ahead of the car’s native Czech Republic.

The SUV will go on sale in Europe before making its way into the Indian market

The 2024 Skoda Kodiaq is based on the MQB platform. It measures 4.75 meters in length, 61 mm more than the outgoing model, while its wheelbase and width remain unchanged.Skoda had to discontinue the Superb and Octavia due to rde norms ,in india, Kodiaq is Skoda’s most premium offering in india.

The Kodiaq will turn to hybrid powertrains with two options. The entry-level Kodiaq will come with a 1.5-litre TSi engine paired with a mild-hybrid system and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. There will also be a plug-in hybrid setup that will come with a 1.5-litre TSi engine mated to a 25.7kWh battery pack. This setup will combine to produce 201bhp and come with a DSG gearbox. Other than that, there will also be a 2.0-litre TSi engine that produces 201bhp. Globally, Skoda also has two diesel specifications – a 190bhp and a 147bhp option.

At the front, we have the traditional Skoda grille with headlamps similar to the Kushaq and Slavia,  The side profile of the Kodaiq is similar at the front but gets a slight window redesign at the rear.

That was all the first-generation Kodiaq, mind, and this is the second iteration. Apparently, it’s bigger, more efficient, more luxurious, more sustainable

It offers lots of space, up to seven seats, a plush interior, relatively strong and efficient engines, and decent handling.

If you’re in the market for a practical family SUV there’s few that can match the all-round performance of the Skoda Kodiaq.

Skoda offers some really cool, clever features that’ll help to catch your eye. An ice-scraper housed in the fuel bay door is one example, as are the umbrellas tucked away into the front doors - just like you get on a Rolls-Royce. Talk about posh... All the tech features are up to a good standard as well, with the option of a large digital driver’s display available.

Once launched, it will continue to rival SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Jeep Meridian.

Skoda has confirmed that it plans to launch the Kodiaq in India, probably in early 2024.
